Manage Network Policies

By default, every VM in Awanio can communicate with each other. By applying network policy or firewall, all traffic (inbound and outbound) will be automatically rejected. The rule that is set means that it is allowed. Go to the Network >> Firewalls menu. You can see a list of Firewall created before, if any.

Create a Network Policy

To create a new one, click Create button on the top right of the Firewall page. You can see a page to create a new firewall.

  • Set the firewall name
  • Set outbound rule (optional). Not setting this means you reject all outbound traffic from VMs.
  • Set inbound rule (optional). Not setting this means you reject all inbound traffic to VMs.
  • Choose attachments. You can apply this firewall to all VMs in the selected organization, in the selected project, or individual VM.
  • Click the Submit button to save and apply the configuration.

View & Update a Network Policy

Click the Firewall name to see the details. You can update the firewall by adding or removing outbound or inbound rule and change the attachments, then click Update button.

Delete a Network Policy

To do so, complete these steps:

  1. Find the firewall you want to delete on the Firewall page.
  2. Click the action button on the right, then choose Delete.
  3. Confirm your action.
