Distributed Management Architecture
Awanio supports a distributed management architecture, enabling hypervisor management to be handled by multiple distributed management servers.
Key Features
-
High Scalability
Management is decoupled from a single central node, allowing the infrastructure to grow without a performance bottleneck. -
Redundancy and High Availability
Management servers can run in clustered mode to support failover and improve overall availability.
-
Delegation and Multi-tenancy
Each management instance can be configured to handle specific groups of hypervisors, supporting multi-tenant architecture and role-based access control. -
Elastic Storage
Adding storage isn’t done by replacing the old system, but by adding a new pool to the cluster. Awanio supports distributed storage, so data is replicated and managed automatically to remain available even if capacity changes. Because of redundancy and auto-replication, running applications won’t be disrupted.
Benefits
- Avoids single point of failure in management
- Supports large-scale infrastructure with localized control
- Increases system resilience and operational efficiency
- Workloads continue running on existing nodes while new nodes are integrated. This enables zero-downtime scaling for both compute (nodes) and storage.
