Licensing

Condensa is licensed with migration credits: one credit pays for one successfully migrated virtual machine.

How credits work

  • Charged on success only. A credit is deducted when a VM finishes migrating successfully. VMs that fail cost nothing, and a VM is never charged twice — retrying a failed migration of the same VM does not double-charge.
  • Warm and cold cost the same. One VM is one credit, regardless of migration method, disk count, or disk size.
  • Starting requires full cover. A migration can only start when your remaining balance covers every VM in it (one credit each). The wizard warns you while selecting VMs if the selection exceeds your balance, and you can remove VMs from a not-yet-started migration to fit.
  • Credits accumulate. Importing another license adds its credits to your balance. Credits already imported do not expire.

Trial

A fresh installation automatically receives 5 trial credits so you can run a real proof-of-concept before purchasing. The License page shows trial mode until the first license is imported.

Getting a license

  1. Open the License tab (as an administrator) and copy the License Request document. It is a small JSON file containing your installation ID and a hardware fingerprint — no credentials or private data.
  2. Send the request document to your Awanio sales or support contact, along with the number of credits you want to purchase.
  3. You will receive a license file (JSON) issued for your installation.
  4. Back in the License tab, paste or upload the file under Import License. Your balance increases immediately and the mode switches to licensed.

Good to know

  • Licenses are bound to your installation. A license issued for one Condensa installation cannot be imported into another, and importing the same license file twice is rejected — a replacement installation needs a new license (contact support).
  • License files have an import validity window. Import the file reasonably soon after receiving it; credits that are already imported never expire.
  • Running migrations are never interrupted by the balance. Licensing is enforced when a migration starts, not while it runs.
  • Only administrators can import licenses; every user can see the balance.
