Introduction to Vapor
Welcome to the official technical documentation for Vapor, the single-host virtualization platform and modern Linux stack web console.
Vapor provides an elegant, all-in-one web-based interface for managing compute, networking, storage, and containerized workloads directly on a Linux host. It bridges the gap between traditional virtualization (VMs) and modern cloud-native orchestrated workloads (Kubernetes, Docker, CRI) within a single node.
What is Vapor?
Vapor is designed to be the ultimate host administration and virtualization platform for enterprise use cases where a single, robust node needs to operate with cloud-like ease and efficiency. It allows administrators to:
- Monitor system performance and hardware utilization.
- Configure complex networking using Linux bridges, Bonds, VLANs, and Open vSwitch (OVS).
- Manage advanced storage topologies including ZFS, LVM, iSCSI, and Btrfs.
- Provision and manage high-performance Virtual Machines (KVM/QEMU) with PCI passthrough support.
- Deploy and monitor Docker and Kubernetes workloads natively.
