CEP Release Notes

This log tracks updates, new features, and bug fixes for the Awanio Cloud Enablement Platform — the platform API and the dashboard served on top of it.

Entries are listed newest first. Each version heading carries its release date, so a change-management review can work from the version currently deployed forward to the present.

Version 3.9.0 (September 2026)

New Features:

  • Networks tab on the VM detail: every interface of a VM is listed with its network and address. External IPs are attached and released from here; a VM that already holds a bridge IP cannot be given an external IP, and the default IP can only be released while the VM is stopped.
  • A VM with no interface yet can be given a network: adding a network to a VM that had none used to fail.
  • Computes can be created without the pod network: the computes API honours with_default_network: false, so an integration such as Condensa can land a VM on the chosen networks only. Condensa 1.9.2 documents this as needing CEP 3.9.0 or later.
  • Bare metal console over iKVM/HTML5, replacing VNC.
  • A new white-label theme (sign-in, welcome banner, chrome and home icons), and a page loader for whole-content loading states that follows the active theme.

Enhancements:

  • VM export downloads run for as long as the export is served. Every download used to be cut at minute 30 and the link died after one hour whatever window had been requested, so a migration of a large disk from a CEP site kept starting over.
  • The "Catalogue" navigation entry is now "ISO Image".
  • Content Security Policy is tightened: the nonce is now enforced.
  • The UI's application framework moved to its next major release, keeping CEP on a line that receives security fixes. No change to workflows or appearance is expected from this step; if a page behaves differently after the upgrade, report it.

Fixes:

  • Windows installation: storage handling during the installation process.
  • A failed VM upgrade no longer leaves the upgrade lock behind, and Resync repairs a VM restarted mid-upgrade.
  • Editing a re-registered Kubernetes cluster no longer fails with 502 when its optional columns are empty; validating webhooks honour dry-run.
  • Billing: the invoice Pay dialog opens on the amount that will actually be charged; the payment date is recorded when an invoice becomes paid; payment checkout and WHMCS response handling.

Version 3.8.7 (September 2026)

Enhancements:

  • Each interface says which network it is on, on the VM detail and when attaching an address.
  • The primary interface can be chosen as the default route.
  • An attached interface is named after the ones the VM already has; leaving the address field blank means "choose one for me"; an address the compute no longer holds is released.

Fixes:

  • Billing: an invoice is shown, and charged, as the amount that will actually be charged — whole rupiah, and the number the invoice states. The top-up Pay Your Bill amount field reads the locale's own thousands and decimal separators.
  • The project picker on "Move to another project" was empty on the platform dashboard.

Version 3.8.6 (September 2026)

New Features:

  • Move a virtual machine between projects of the same organisation, from the VM's menu, with a searchable project picker — and see where it has been in its project history. Costs are attributed to the project that owned the VM at the time. A move needs admin on both projects.
  • Computes on VLAN networks only: create and convert computes whose interfaces are all on VLAN networks.
  • The platform sweeps VM power states against the hypervisor on a timer, so a VM's state on the dashboard does not drift from reality.

Enhancements:

  • A VM's stored hostname is served to the guest, and the hostname is validated on the create form.
  • autostart: false creates the VM stopped, as the field always promised.
  • A caller-chosen MAC address is kept, on the pod interface at create and on attach; one is minted when none is given.
  • Compute create honours the request's cloud-init.
  • Object Storage: the note shown when deleting a bucket is gone.

Fixes:

  • MFA lockout now actually locks, and a failed login is reported where it failed.
  • A retired price plan no longer makes a VM look deleted.
  • Creating a project as an organisation member now also creates the project membership.
  • Terminal on a running VM always has a current address to dial.
  • Adding an SSH key that already exists is refused.
  • A password reset job gets the time it needs; an object store that answers but never replies no longer hangs the caller.

Version 3.8.5 (August 2026)

New Features:

  • Import from a URL: Create a catalogue entry or an ISO image by giving CEP a URL, instead of uploading the file yourself.
  • Resync a stuck VM: When a VM's power state stops matching reality, Resync reconciles the record against the hypervisor from the power menu.
  • Bandwidth management per interface: Set bandwidth limits on a VM's network interface from the VM detail view.

Enhancements:

  • Choose a bridge IP as the default route when creating a VM, and from the Network tab of an existing VM.
  • Resetting a VM's password now states the password requirements and validates against them before submitting.

Fixes:

  • An organisation member could not create a project.

Version 3.8.4 (July 2026)

New Features:

  • Curated workload actions in Kubernetes Explorer: Act on a workload directly from the explorer, in both the dashboard and the superadmin view.
  • Monitoring on the dashboard home: The landing page carries monitoring at a glance.

Enhancements:

  • Filter what Kubernetes Explorer lists.
  • Node metrics report actual CPU and memory values.
  • The platform's Two-Factor Authentication, Password, and SSH key settings now match the dashboard's layout and behaviour.
  • The interface defaults to Indonesian rather than English.

Fixes:

  • Adding an SSH key from an empty state crashed the page.
  • Creating a volume from the dashboard failed.
  • A compute migrated in from another platform could carry tags in a shape CEP did not expect, breaking the page that displayed it.
  • Links between related Kubernetes resources opened on the wrong tab.

Version 3.8.3 (June 2026)

New Features:

  • Assign an IP address from Network → Cluster in the dashboard.
  • CPU topology mapping when creating a compute.
  • Reset a VM's password, in both the dashboard and the platform.

Fixes:

  • Currency was formatted for the wrong locale.
  • The virtual keyboard misbehaved.

Version 3.8.2 (May 2026)

Fixes:

  • In the IDXSTI theme, sidebar icons now take the active text colour.

Version 3.8.1 (May 2026)

Enhancements:

  • Strokeless sidebar icons for the IDXSTI theme.

Version 3.8.0 (May 2026)

New Features:

  • Kubernetes Explorer: Browse and inspect the resources inside a cluster.
  • Service account management: Create and manage service accounts for programmatic access.
  • IDXSTI theme: A pre-defined theme available to deployments that use it.

Enhancements:

  • Kubernetes as a Service, redesigned: A new look throughout the KaaS section.

Fixes:

  • Assorted fixes across the dashboard.

Version 3.7.0 (February 2026)

New Features:

  • Monitoring reports: Build a report over your computes — choose the metrics, follow its progress through each step, and download the result as CSV.
  • Bulk actions on computes: Select several VMs at once and act on them together, with a confirmation step before anything destructive runs.

Enhancements:

  • Restore a VM snapshot either back to the VM or as a separate disk, chosen from the snapshot's detail view.
  • Creating a VM proposes the same value for its name and its hostname by default.
  • The restore button on Backup Data appears only once the backup has completed.

Security:

  • Hardening following an internal review: outbound requests are validated against the configured API host before they are made, and the documentation route validates a resolved file path before reading it. Dependencies were updated, and static analysis was added to the build.

Fixes:

  • The dropdown on the Update Ticket form did not open.
  • Pagination inside the Network tab was misaligned, and row selection did not stay in place when switching tabs.
  • .iso files were offered for catalogue upload, where they do not belong.

Version 3.6.0 (December 2025)

New Features:

  • Multi-factor authentication.
  • Express and advanced VM creation: A short path for a standard VM, and a full one for everything else.
  • ISO images: Manage ISO images and boot from them.
  • Export a VM or a volume.
  • Restore a snapshot as a disk, leaving the original VM untouched.
  • VM templates.

Fixes:

  • Assorted fixes across the dashboard.

Version 3.5.5 (August 2025)

Enhancements:

  • Storage is grouped in the dashboard as Storage Pool, Volumes, Backup, and Object Storage.
  • A random password can be generated when creating a compute.
  • A compute's uptime and CPU architecture are shown.
  • Kubernetes cluster detail carries more information.

Fixes:

  • Storage pool fixes in the dashboard.
